Woodland Horse Manure is produced from well composted stable litter. It is one of the oldest and most effective soil fertilisers known to man and is much sort after by increasing numbers of gardeners who wish to avoid the use of chemical fertilisers.
Prior to packaging this is thoroughly composted to dissipate excess nitrogen, eliminate weed seeds and to reduce odour level.
Horse manure contains a wide range of nutrients and minerals including abundant amounts of the three main elements that plants require for growth; nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, plus many essential trace elements. It is ideal for the keen gardener as a nutrient rich soil conditioner, a surface mulch and aid to planting.

For Commercial Use: 50m3 will treat an area of 1000m2.

As a Soil Conditioner:
Woodland Horse Manure is an ideal soil conditioner for all types of soil, especially the more problematic ones:
- Heavy Clay Soils
It improves soil texture, making it easier to work. It prevents water logging by enhancing drainage and it increases soil aeration.
- Light Sandy or Chalky soils
Organic nutrient is added to the body of the soil which will not be leached away by rainfall.
Simply spread Woodland Horse Manure evenly over the surface of the soil to a depth of 2 to 3 inches ( 50mm to 75mm), then fork in well or rotavate. This will leave your soil enriched and ready for planting.
Applying As a Mulch:
Woodland Horse Manure is an ideal soil conditioner for all types of soil, especially the more problematic ones:
- Retain moisture in the soil
- Inhibits weed growth
- Protect plants against the effects of frost
- Enhance the appearance of your garden
Before application ensure that soil is weed free and moist. Spread horse manure evenly to a depth of 2 to 3 inches ( 50mm to 75mm).
To Increase Plant Growth Rate:
Woodland Horse Manure will assist plants to establish a sound root structure and achieve rapid growth:
- Dig a hole slightly larger than required to accommodate the plant or shrub
- Line generously with blend of soil and mushroom compost (3:1)
- Plant in the normal manner with more of the above mixture and water in
With roses, fruit trees and shrubs top dress after planting with a further 2 to 3 inches (50 to 75mm) of horse manure, his will aid establishment of the plants and help them to thrive by retaining moister, adding further nutrient and by suppressing weeds.
