Mushroom compost is an excellent soil conditioner and economic to use on a large scale. It will improve the structure of heavy clay soils and add humus to thin sandy or chalky soils. Being steam sterilised before leaving the mushroom farm ensures it is weed and disease free. This product is pH neutral so will not raise the pH of most soils. This should not be used for ericaceous plants.

Woodland Mushroom Compost is a carefully composted blend of horse manure and chicken manure to provide a rich source of plant nutrients; wheat straw to provide body and gypsum to improve texture. The composting process is carries out by experts with years of experience in providing a balanced compost for commercial mushroom cultivation.
Prior to packaging this compost is steam sterilised to provide a material which is free of all weed seed, pests and diseases. It is ideal for the keen gardener as a nutrient rich soil conditioner, a surface mulch and aid to planting.
Mushroom compost bag can be delivered in either bulk loads, bulk bags or 75 litre bags:
For Commercial Use: 55m3 mushroom compost will cover approximately 1000 square metres.
For Domestic Use: 40x75 litre bags provide enough for the most demanding jobs. This pack will cover 40-60 square metres.

As a Soil Conditioner:
Woodland Mushroom Compost is an ideal soil conditioner for all types of soil, especially the more problematic ones:
- Heavy Clay Soils
It improves soil texture, making it easier to work. It prevents water logging by enhancing drainage and it increases soil aeration.
- Light Sandy or Chalky soils
Organic nutrient is added to the body of the soil which will not be leached away by rainfall. Simply spread Woodland Mushroom Compost on the surface of the soil to a depth of 2 to 3 inches ( 50mm to 75mm), then fork in or rotavate.
Applying As a Mulch:
Woodland Mushroom Compost is an excellent mulch which will:
- Retain moisture in the soil
- Inhibits weed growth
- Protect plants against the effects of frost
- Enhance the appearance of your garden
To Increase Plant Growth Rate:
Woodland Mushroom Compost will assist plants to establish a sound root structure and achieve rapid growth:
- Dig a hole slightly larger than required to accommodate the plant or shrub
- Line generously with blend of soil and mushroom compost (3:1)
- Plant in the normal manner with more of the above mixture and water in
