Peat Based Growing Media
These media are suitable for potting, cuttings and seeding for all types of plants including ericaceous plants, grown both outdoors and indoors. Additives to enhance drainage, water retention and uptake can be added if required. Fertilisers are added to give the desired balance of nutrients. Peat based growing media can be supplied in loose bulk, bulk bags and in 75L bags.
Peat Free Growing Media
Based on composted bark fines, composted wood fibre and other peat free materials indigenous to the United Kingdom, this product is suitable for potting and cuttings of most types of plant. Additives to enhance drainage, water retention and uptake can be added if required. Peat Free Growing Media can be supplied in loose bulk, bulk bags and in 75L bags.
Loam Based Growing Media
Made to the traditional and proven John Innes formulae from sandy loam, peat, horticultural sand and John Innes base fertiliser. Available as John Innes seed compost and John Innes potting compost numbers 1, 2 or 3. Loam based growing media can be supplied in loose bulk, bulk bags and in 25kg bags.
Lightweight Planting Mix
Lightweight planting mix is a blend of screened sandy loam, sedge peat or coir and LECA (4mm – 10mm). Coir is used if a peat free medium is required. It is available in loose bulk, bulk bags and 40L bags. A 30m³ load will cover 100m² to a depth of 300mm.
Tree Soil Growing Media
Tree soil growing media is compactable and designed to support tree growth while preventing subsidence in surrounding areas that would be caused by vehicle or pedestrian traffic. Typically you should use 5m³ per tree. The compacted density is 1.6 tonnes per m³. It must be installed in layers no more than 300mm deep before compaction.
